Riot from Wrong

On Thursday 5th December, I attended a public screening of ‘Riot from Wrong’ (an award winning film about the 2011 riots and the alleged causes).
In this film people repeatedly accuse the police of “murdering Mark Duggan” and “executing Mark Duggan” and also complained about the number of deaths following contact with the police, while other people were complaining that the police did nothing while rioters looted shops and burned buildings. The police were unable to respond to the accusations in the film because of the ongoing inquest into the death of Mark Duggan.

The film did make a few valid points, including how capitalism and advertising have created a must have society where children are teased and bullied if they don’t have the latest trainers and clothes, but in my opinion the film was ruined by using it as a platform to attack the police.
At the end of the film there was an opportunity to question the makers of the film, Carol Duggan (the Aunt of Mark Duggan) and a couple of people from Croydon who have been campaigning for compensation for people affected by the riots. My question was “Do you not think that the film was a bit bias against the police, being as there was a number of accusations, they said in it that they murdered Mark Duggan and that they executed him? When they may have been negligent or committed manslaughter? The accusation of murder or executing is that not a bit strong or do you feel that they had a motive while they would have wished to execute him? Also as for the police when they didn’t come out of Croydon Town Centre to engage the rioters, you mentioned Broadwater Farm earlier and there was no mention of Keith Blakelock the police officer who had his head cut off there, which could have quiet easily happened in these anti-Police Riots. Thank you very much”.
I was interrupted by a Labour Councillor who called out “surely not” when I said the accusation of murder was a bit strong.
The panel maintained that Mark Duggan was murdered, but no one gave a motive as to why the police would murder him and Carol Duggan pointed out that PC Keith Blakelock’s head was not cut off (The murderers tried to cut his head off and a knife was plunged 6 inches into his neck, but I stand corrected, his head was not actually cut off)

Interestingly there was no representation from Croydon Conservatives (the Party in control of Croydon Council) with the chief reporter for the Croydon Advertiser tweeting “It’s perhaps easy to be cynical about politicians attending these things, but come on, Tories out numbered by NF”

Croydon Council Homes going to Foreigners

In Today's Croydon Advertiser (65p for the working class, Free for the middle class) there is an article titled "Foreign folk are not first in the queue" this is a propaganda piece by David Churchill and Annabel Howard.
What they wait until the last paragraph to say, is that what they consider to be a foreigner, is someone who does not hold a UK passport and is therefore not a UK citizen. Among people who are considered to be 'British' are Abu Hamza(pictured) who was given a British passport and allowed to keep it after he divorced his wife and married another foreign national, and a number of bogus asylum seekers.

In the politically motivated release by the Croydon Advertiser they claim to have polled 100 people living on Croydon's council estates, who on average, believe 49% of available stock, went to non-british residents, where as the Advertiser believes this figure to be, between 7 and 10%. rather than being a case of either the residents or the Advertiser being completely out with their estimates, it is more likely the case that they have different views, as to what 'British' is.
Please feel free to comment on this post unlike the Croydon Advertiser which bans people or having conflicting opinions.

Local Pubs

On 17th November 1974, Maria McGuire’s ex-lover Dáithí Ó Conaill was interviewed on London Weekend Television by Mary Holland. Ó Conaill announced there would be an escalation of Provisional IRA violence. Four days later terrorist bombs were set off in the Mulberry Bush and the Tavern in the Town public houses in Birmingham killing 21 innocent people and injuring 182.

Whenever a brave British Soldier was injured in the line of duty in Northern Ireland, McGuire (at the time an IRA gun runner) and Ó Conaill would pray that he be dead by morning.
40 years after she had moved in the upper echelons of the IRA, McGuire now known as Maria Gatland, is the chair of the licensing committee for Croydon Council and a conservative councilor for Croham ward.
In Croham ward is one of the oldest pubs in Croydon and a local landmark, the Swan and Sugar-Loaf, which has been shut for almost two years now. There are plans to turn this piece of local history into another Tesco Express convenience store. Croydon like many other places in Great Britain has pubs closing all the time due to the smoking ban, the availability of cheap booze and drugs and the multicultural society not using pubs.

Gavin Leaky Barwell

In 2009 the Conservative Party sent out a questionnaire to a number of unsuspecting Croydon residents including British National Party Stalwart Cliff Le May. In response to one of the questions Cliff asked Mayor of London Boris Johnson, to “stop ruining out community by stuffing New Addington with violent immigrants who have no right to live among decent civilised white people”.
When Gavin Barwell got his grubby little hands on the questionnaire, his response was to hand it over to Aline Nassif, a reporter with the Croydon Advertiser, who without questioning the source of the information wrote the attached article http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/Croydon-BNP-election-candidate-investigated-immigrants-rant/story-11367360-detail/story.html .
When I took over as Croydon and Sutton Organiser of the British National Party, I started to look into the legality of the Leak and found it looked Illegal under the Data Protection Act 1998. I spoke with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and was advised that most data protection issues can be resolved by contacting the organisation responsible without going through the ICO. I wrote to Croydon Conservatives who refused to take the situation seriously and again went to the Croydon Advertiser this time to Gareth Davies who wrote http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/MP-rejects-BNP-claim-rant-published/story-11361571-detail/story.html.
I wrote to the ICO who looked into the case and contacted the Croydon Conservative Federation (CCF), the CCF has recognised their error and to prevent reoccurrences of the circumstances are considering compiling and retaining a guidance note for staff. They also intend running a data protection/information security awareness programme.
Rather than embracing the opportunity to be trained in information security, Gavin Barwell took the extraordinary decision to condemn the Information Commissioner on twitter “GavinBarwellMP Great story here @Gareth Davies09 Information Commissioner trying to protect privacy of racist standing for public office @tonyleemartin”. Ironically he tweeted this the day after attending a Black Minority Ethnic Forum.
When contacted by Croydon and Sutton British National Party about an apology, Gavin Leaky Barwell said “Have no intention of apologising. Fact you have gone to such lengths to stop people hearing Cliff’s views speaks volumes”.
Croydon and Sutton British National Party have no intention of stopping people hearing Cliff’s views, which are at the top of the article; our intention is to have the people of Croydon Central represented by an MP with integrity. If anyone has the intention of stopping people hearing Cliff’s or other BNP views its Gavin Barwell’s friends at the Croydon Advertiser who invited all Croydon Central candidates except Cliff to hustings. When challenged over this, the lack of reporting on Croydon Conservatives links to the IRA and Lie’s printed about another BNP member Gareth Davies said ” Invitations were to the top four parties at 2006 local elections. BNP came 6th, with 1.4% of vote.” Gareth wouldn’t give an answer to where the Monster Raving Loony Party (who was invited to hustings) came in 2006.
